Friday night, fire ripped through a South Avenue home, tragically taking the life of a child.

Seven-year-old Hannah was killed. Besides the loss of a beautiful young life, the large but close knit family of 11 also lost everything they owned and are left with only the clothes on their back.  Niagara Falls Police officials say the community has been asking how they can help.

Here’s how:

The Lucas family – which includes 7 young boys and 4 young girls – who are between 4-17 years of age  – could use things like gift certificates to local restaurants, gift cards and cash donations. The family has been given temporary lodging – and is being helped by the Red Cross, but will need to find permanent housing.

Family and friends have set up a GoFundMe account to help the family through this tragic time. LINK TO GOFUNDME.
