On Saturday, July 25th from 9 AM to 4 PM –  a memorial blood drive will be held at D’Youville Academic Center to honor the life of Ali Waclawek. Ali died in the summer of 2019 at only 31 years old from a rare maternal complication, amniotic fluid embolism, while giving birth to her first child.

In the year since Ali’s death her family has looked for different ways to honor her memory and continue her legacy of giving back. They have started the “Alison Rose Foundation” to raise funds to support amniotic fluid embolism research and medical care for children and mothers. Her family will also be focusing on blood donation as Ali needed 18 units of blood as the doctors fought to save her life.

To make an appointment for the Ali Waclawek Memorial Blood Drive with ConnectLife please visit or call 716.529.4270. Remember your mask and your ID! Ali loved pink so every presenting donor will receive a pink rose in her honor.
