If you’re like me, you’ve already gone to a Delta Sonic at least a few times since the start of spring!! It’s really nice to know this local company is giving back – in a big and important way.
With almost 900 million people worldwide lacking access to clean drinking water, Delta Sonic and Rollins College in Florida are partnering to raise $1 million to bring potable water to families in underdeveloped areas across the globe.
For every new Unlimited Wash or Unlimited Interior Plan sold, Delta Sonic will donate $25 to help provide water filters, test water quality, set up clean water systems and provide training in rural communities that currently lack safe drinking water. Over 18,000 water filters have already been installed in the Dominican Republic.
“We take for granted that even the water we use to wash our cars is cleaner than the water some of the people in these remote communities depend upon to live,” said Kim Allen, Marketing Director.
Rural households in places like the Dominican Republic that don’t have access to a monitored municipal water supply or clean ground water normally rely on collecting rainwater in a barrel for drinking, cooking and washing, which results in many airborne diseases. According to Rollins College, 1.8 million people die from diarrheal diseases each year—the majority of them children under the age of five.
“Our Unlimited subscription packages for car washes and interior cleanings are extremely popular because of their inclusiveness and convenience,” said Allen, noting that both include automatic billing, discounts on other Delta Sonic services and no commitment. “We’re very happy we’re able to expand their impact through supporting clean water initiatives around the world.”
