World Kidney Day is Thursday, March 8th. It’s hoped that highlighting this day will raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems worldwide.

There are a few things happening on Thursday to highlight the day.

The American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls will be illuminated yellow, blue and green to mark the day. It will happen at 10 p.m. and last for 15 minutes.

The top of City Hall will also be yellow, blue and green to mark the day.

ALSO — The Kidney Foundation of Western New York and Mayor Byron W. Brown will team up to provide kidney health information and blood pressure screenings in Buffalo City Hall. At the proclamation ceremony, Mayor Brown will recognize the efforts of those who work to increase awareness about the devastating effects of kidney disease in our community, as well as the efforts of those who look for ways to eradicate it.

WHERE: Lobby of Buffalo City Hall

WHEN: Thursday, March 8, 2018
