A Hamburg mom is extremely upset after her daughter found  what appeared to be a sewing needle in a piece of her Halloween candy.  Police in the Town of Hamburg say they are “investigating an incident of tampering” involving Halloween candy.

Police received a report of “a sewing type needle or small nail type object” in a piece of banana-flavored Laffy Taffy

Authorities think the candy was given out in the Pine Lakes area of Lake View. The exact area – I’m told  – is Hobblebush/Buttermilk area.

Anyone with information on the incident can call Det. Widman at (716) 649-3800 ext. 2603.

The mom who reported the needle, Heather Tirado tells me she is absolutely sickened that someone would do such a thing, “Honestly, I am fearful of the kids who will trick or treat in the next years to kid will not be going.”

And now it turns out police may be investigating yet another case of tampering, “Turns out one of my daughter’s friends who went with her also found a piece of metal in a appears to be wonka candy not just laffy taffy. The detective was called for that one as well. I know that hasn’t been put out to the public as it just happened a few hours ago. It’s just horrible and sad.”

Check any and all candy  – you just never know.
