Some major honors for fallen Buffalo Police Officer Craig Lehner.

Mayor Byron Brown’s State of the City address included some news about Lehner, who died last October during an underwater training exercise in the Niagara River.

Mayor Brown announced Lehner was posthumously promoted to Lieutenant and that the Buffalo Police K-9 training facility will be named in honor of Lehner. The Mayor also announced that Shield, Officer Lehner’s K-9 partner has found a new partner in the Buffalo K-9 unit.

The community came together after the death of the 35 year old died in the tragic accident.

From blue pumpkins to blue lights to free lunch for first responders – this amazing community supports Officer Lehner and the BPD.
